Murdoch Mysteries – Season 2

Season 2 (2009)

Filming of season two took place in Toronto, Cambridge, and St. George in Ontario, in Drumheller, Alberta, and near Vancouver, British Columbia where they made use of the old set of Bordertown.

A young woman dies mysteriously while seeking medical attention. In this episode, Dr Ogden reveals that she had an abortion (when it was illegal in Canada to have abortions). As she explains the circumstances of her abortion and the reason she chose to have it, Murdoch (a Catholic and a man driven by a strict code of ethics and morality), is seen to be visibly shaken as he tries to reconcile Dr Ogden's past actions against his firmly held beliefs. They part, leaving Murdoch visibly distressed and riven with internal conflict of his love for the doctor versus his need to comply with his values.
